Memorial Scholarship FundThe Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Diocese of Washington was established in 1925. MSF grants are made to lay and ordained individuals pursuing post graduate degrees in Christian ministry, social work, or nursing. Individuals enrolled in the Diocesan Diaconate program are eligible. Contributions are made by parishes in memory of their deceased women.
Many parishioners are now beginning to think of MSF as a unique way of expressing one’s gratitude for the good life that God has granted. MSF is also one way to commemorate those who have left us. Some parishes have designated the Memorial Scholarship Fund in their budgets as a special line item. Two individuals received scholarships from the fund in 2026. The Reverend Creamilda Shirley Wulk-Nortey Yoda is the Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Clinton, Maryland. She graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary (Virginia) with a master’s in divinity and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, DC). The Reverent Shayna J. Watson serves as the 15th Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, DC. Rev. Watson earned degrees in Political Science and African Diasporic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a Master of Divinity with honors from Lancaster Theological Seminary and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. She is pursuing her Doctor of Ministry degree at Howard University. Learn more... |
